EU-MATHS-IN becomes a member of ICIAM

EU-MATHS-IN has been accepted as a member of the International Council for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (ICIAM), marking an important milestone in the network’s international development.

ICIAM is a worldwide organisation of societies and organisations working to advance industrial and applied mathematics and to promote the use of mathematics in addressing real-world challenges.

EU-MATHS-IN’s membership strengthens its connection with the global industrial and applied mathematics community and provides new opportunities for international collaboration, exchange of knowledge and joint initiatives.

For EU-MATHS-IN, this is also an important recognition of the work carried out by its national networks, research centres and researchers to strengthen the interaction between mathematics and industry across Europe. The EU-MATHS-IN network brings together almost 400 research centres and more than 9,000 researchers, providing a unique European platform for mathematical innovation and knowledge transfer to industry.

Through its participation in ICIAM, EU-MATHS-IN aims to contribute the European perspective and experience in mathematics-industry collaboration, while building stronger links with industrial and applied mathematics communities worldwide.

We are delighted to join the ICIAM community and look forward to contributing actively to its activities and objectives. We would also like to take this opportunity to remind you that one historical aim of ICIAM is to organize major International Conferences on Industrial and Applied Mathematics (ICIAM) every four years; see https://iciam.org/history-iciam. Please note that the call for participation for ICIAM 2027 is now open: https://iciam2027.org/

A new step forward for EU-MATHS-IN — and new opportunities to connect European industrial mathematics with the global community.
