EU-MATHS-IN 2024 Council Meeting

During the recent Council meeting of EU-MATHS-IN, held on November 25, 2024, at the Centre de Recerca Matemàtica in Barcelona and facilitated by MATH-IN, two new Executive Board members were elected:

• Panayiota Katsamba from Cyprus
• Rosa Crujeiras from Spain

Beside the new Board Members election and the approval of the Strategic Plan for 2025, a “In Memoriam” presented by Antonino Sgalambro was held, to honor the legacy of our beloved colleague and former Board Member, Maurizio Ceseri.
Maurizio, a valued researcher at the IAC Institute – National Research Council of Italy, was best known for his excellent contributions in mathematical modeling for cultural heritage preservation and for his leadership role in the “Sportello Matematico” project for the Transfer of Mathematics in Industry. His huge contribution to the realisation of the Eu-Maths-In project, his dedication, kindness, and humor, and his legacy as a colleague and friend, will be deeply cherished.
